Pros on New Season of Dancing With the Stars

"Dancing with the Stars" is hoofing its way to its 30th season. Who would've thought 16 years ago that this little six-week summer show would make it to the big 3-0? But here we are. Here is everything to know about the milestone installment.

It has a premiere date
Season 30 will premiere on Monday, Sept. 20 at 8/7c, maintaining the series' usual two-hour Monday night slot. It will likely wrap up once again at the end of November right before Thanksgiving.

Tyra Banks will host again
"Dancing" fans' world was turned upside down last July when the show dropped Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews as hosts in favor of Banks, who also serves as an executive producer, as part of a "new creative direction," and the supermodel is not going anywhere. ABC announced in March, when the show was renewed for a 30th season, that Banks will be back.

There will be four judges
Len Goodman, Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli will be sitting behind the judges' table. Goodman was unable to participate in person last season due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, which led to the addition of six-time champ Hough as a judge. This will be the second iteration of a regular four-person judging panel after Hough's sister, two-time champ Julianne Hough, served as a judge for several seasons.

Inaba had fans concerned when she took a leave of absence from CBS' "The Talk" in April to focus on her well-being, but while announcing her departure from "The Talk" in August, she confirmed that she will return to "Dancing." "For now, let's get the sequins shined up for @dancingabc Season 30!" she wrote on Instagram.

Which pros will be back?
The 15 pros are Brandon Armstrong, Lindsay Arnold, Alan Bersten, Sharna Burgess, Cheryl Burke, Witney Carson, Artem Chigvintsev, Val Chmerkovskiy, Sasha Farber, Jenna Johnson, Daniella Karagach, Pasha Pashkov, Gleb Savchenko, Emma Slater and Britt Stewart.

All 15 are returning pros. Chigvintsev is the reigning champ. Arnold and Carson are back after sitting out Season 29 because of their pregnancies. Who's not on this list are two-time champ Peta Murgatroyd and Keo Motsepe, both of whom were on last season.

Who are the celebrities?
Olympic champion gymnast Suni Lee, who won three medals in Tokyo this summer, and singer/dancer JoJo Siwa, who you may remember from "Dance Moms" or Season 3 of "The Masked Singer," were the first two stars announced on Aug. 26. The other 13 celebs, unveiled on "Good Morning America" on Sept. 8, are country singer Jimmie Allen, Spice Girl Melanie C, Christine Chiu ("Bling Empire"), Brian Austin Green ("Beverly Hills, 902010"), Melora Hardin ("The Office"), influencer (and daughter of Lori Loughlin) Olivia Jade, Matt James ("The Bachelor"), Amanda Kloots ("The Talk" co-host), Martin Kove ("The Karate Kid" franchise), WWE star Mike "The Miz" Mizanin, Kenya Moore ("The Real Housewives of Atlanta"), Peloton star instructor Cody Rigsby and NBA champ Iman Shumpert. There will be a same-sex couple
Siwa will be partnered with a female pro, marking the first time the show has had a same-sex couple. Celebrity-pro pairings will again be revealed live on the premiere, but Siwa seems to have accidentally spoiled her partner. Meanwhile, you know Green and Burgess will be paired together since they're dating.

There is no no elimination in Week 1
The first elimination will occur in Week 2 after everyone has put in two dances.

How will voting work?
Starting in Week 2, voting is exactly the same as it has been, but if you need a refresher: You can vote at abc.com or via text from any time zone during the live Eastern and Central broadcast. Those votes will be combined with the judges scores and the results will be revealed live during the broadcast. For Week 1, there is a special premiere vote, unlike last season. Fans can vote until 5 a.m. ET on Tuesday, Sept. 21. The Week 1 scores and votes will be combined with the Week 2 scores and votes to determine the first elimination.
